WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE ROLEX WATCHES

There have long since been rumors swirling around that a Rolex was sold at Selfridges in London for a whopping 8 million pounds, which translates into $15 million USD. But these rumors have never been verified as being true. So, we turn to the next, confirmed case of the most expensive Rolex in the world. This one stems from the UK as well and was sold at an event held by Sotheby’s in June 2003. This “Paul Newman” Rolex Oyster Cosmograph “Daytona” was just in fact a prototype when it was sold at auction. This particular watch has a red face with black sub-dials located at strategic positions. And although it wasn’t sold until 2003, the watch was actually created in 1979, which no doubt added to its value.

The “Paul Newman” Rolex Oyster Cosmograph “Daytona” may not have reached the massive price tag of 8 million pounds that the rumored most expensive Rolex did, but it did quite well for itself. It was sold for 210,000 pounds, which is about $350,000 USD.
